King

When Min closed and locked the door, she didn’t know I was behind her with the ugliest glare. I wasn’t too worried about the woman who splattered her hurts on us. I was concerned about the woman who had to defend herself before pulling out the truth. Something we could never have done. Simply, we wanted to be done with Blanche Abbott.

“I’m sorry you had to get out of character.” I apologized.

“Gotdamn it, King!” she shrieked, turning on her heels. “You scared the shit out of me.”

Seeing her comical facial expression, I grabbed her trembling hand and seriously said, “Sorry, Ultra-Ultra Dark. I didn’t mean to do that.”

“It’s all good.” She exhaled, stepping closer to me.

“I’m going to lay Dad’s ass out; then, we are going to blow this joint. I need to apologize the right way for you stepping out of character when you shouldn’t have been provoked,” I announced, lifting her from the ground.

“And how will you do that?” she inquired, sweetly smiling.

Walking from the door, I observed her beaming eyes and voiced, “By using my mouth, but it won’t be spitting out words.”

“Oh my,” she cooed, resting her nose on mine.

“Min, I need to clear some things up,” I calmly spoke, landing in the kitchen, causing all to stop talking. “You do, but you don’t remind me of Tree. I’m not in your space because you remind me of her. I will always be in your space because you make me vulnerable. That quality lets me know I can’t just be your friend. I must be more than that. You have a bright light and halo surrounding you; Tree didn’t have that. She had a halo. You make me laugh a lot. You make my heart skip much. You are clueless in complex math; Tree was not. I love how you freely speak your mind to anyone; Tree never did that. You are ultra-ultra-dark; Tree was just dark-skinned. Min, I’m in love with the fact that once we start playing Hide-and-Seek, I won’t be able to find you. I’m going to run into shit if I don’t remember moving the furniture. I will be thrilled when I do find you in the dark. I’m going to wear your thin ass out; I’ll be fucking furious by that time. I like you for you, not Tree. Y’all don’t have much in common. You have shut down my respiratory system several times since I saw you. She did that three times. I’m into you because of you, not someone else.”

“I know.” She confidently breathed as the others sat at the table.

“As far as Vila, who you will meet soon, we have a simple relationship. Tree sent her on a task to be there for me when the time arrived for us to no longer see her. When I feel the need to slow grind or eat pussy, she’s the one I go to. She’s the female her best friend assigned to make sure I stayed on the new path and didn’t forget how to cater to a woman’s body.
